Nice little jar/bottle. I dip clones directly into it even though not suggested. Works very well.

I like this stuff. My first kind I tried never had success. Rooting cuttings except a rose an wild mulberry. I learned it's important to keep the cuttings out of direct sunlight. Or it will begin to die. I have some roots, I used this rootech it's pretty decent. Testing it with a variety of trees, shrubs, and herbs. My pepper rooted successful. Im so happy I never knew it could be that easy. Also some others are rooting. I think a pecon or oak is rooting. Looks like the hibiscus wants to root, Will post updates yeah I bought 2 packs of gel. Glad I did I needed alot used almost all of it. May grab more or try something different unsure

Twice as fast rooting compared to a powdered rooting compound. 10 out of 10 cuttings rooted well.

This paired with a heating mat makes the clones root in 4 or 5 days. It works very well, just dont let too much stay on the stalk above the dirt. Had one melt away at the glob when there was a build up, my fault for sure. Pic is 4 days to show initial sign of roots.

This is the best so far for cloning plants. It has not been 100% rate but maybe 75%. I’m completely satisfied because i feel why should it be 100% what are the odds people. I could have never imagined cloning cuttings. I have saved lots of money in not buying plants from stores. I now have plumbagos, red tips, boganvillias, crepe myrtles in all colored, and laurels. I cut at an angle, dip in solution and cover with white kitchen plastic bag and in two week the little ones are blooming. Maybe its the Texas weather, humidity is high

seems to work but have yet to see roots yet, only been maybe a week. At least they are all alive....

This product is my live saver. My seedlings where dieing, I had 5 and buy the time rooted came in I had already lost 3 but the 2 that where still kind of alive I just dipped the root in it and within a week they where alive and healthy. I strongly recommend this product if your seedlings are starting to die.

This is a great product. Slightly pricey for the volume however it works amazingly well. In a side by side by side test with Stim Root and Wilson Roots, Technaflora rooted nearly twice as fast and had almost double the root volume. The only product I've found that works better is from Humbolt Nutrients over 12 times as expensive.

I'm so happy this arrived and on schedule today. I included the picture to demonstrate the package size. I knew the weight before I bought this but was still surprised by the size. I bought this to aid rooting some fig cuttings and will review this again within 10 weeks to advise on whether my success rate improves while using "Rootech gel" (previously my success was approximately 20% on my 1st attempt.).

I got it because I didn't see my green light powder offered and I didn't need a whole lot of it. Decided to give Rootech a try. There is PLENTY in the 7g container to make hundreds of clones. So I'm unsure with the small amounts reported, maybe the product leaked in shipping... NO idea. So, I did my usual thing. 45% angle cut right below a set of nodes. Used sunshine soiless medium, wet it until the water was apparent in the reservoir in the bottom. Dipped the plant material in the gel 1X just the bottom of the stem above the nodes. Put them in a clone dome with vents closed. Did not spritz them, didn't mess with them just let them be. No heater underneath, under 2 - 42w compact florescent bulbs. Inside a small cabinet under 24 hour constant light. out of 18 starts 13 were ready in 1 week. Ended up having to kill some there were too many. I have been doing this for many many years I am very satisfied with Rootechs performance, just thought I would weigh in as I saw a few negative reviews. I'm thinking the babies requirements were not met in someway, but I am pretty sure it isn't the product. Will buy again is as good as my Greenlight, a Washington State industry standard.

Best cloning gel I have found. I have tried several of the other major brand cloning products and Techanaflora has provided the best and most consistent results of all. While there are several variables that will determine successful results with cloning, the concentration of growth hormones in this product is the highest of all similar products I have found is and has given me the quickest and most dense rooting of any others I have tried.

This is the first time I've used this particular root starter for cuttings. The first thing you should know is this is a very tiny container. I couldn't believe how small it was.I guess I should have paid attention to the dimensions under "Technical Details".
The size is like a small lip gloss use to be. However, the size wasn't important if I could get
enough cuttings rooted with it. So I went to work. I'd bought a couple pre-planted hanging baskets and they were beautiful.
I say "were" because I get a lot of sun and one of them gets it sun-up to sun-down. I let them
go several days without watering during a heat spell and that basket didn't bounce back.
Some of the plants had dried out too much & turned brown. They died.
I took cuttings off the other one, placed a little of this gel on them and stuck them in some soil
in a small plant pot. A little sun and kept them watered. Within a week or two, it worked -- very well.
I ended up not only adding some to the hanging planter to fill what I'd lost, but had a couple new good size
low round planters that I put cuttings into-- I now have two more planters sitting on the corner of deck railings --
with flowers blooming.
Bottomline: Although a very small container, this works and does quite a few cuttings. I can't say how many
because I still have quit a bit left. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to "make" new plants from ones you
already have by rooting cuttings.

The best gel on the market for sure , better than the green one. This one is so powerful that you see the plant inflate after a couple of day , sign that the gel is absorbed, also the root explode Maybe 3 day before other gel , I will never , never buy again any other gel than this one.

When I read about cloning plants everything said it is really easy to kill the clones so you had to clean and prep your tools and store the clones in a dark moist environment. I took some clippings one day, but I was lazy. I soaked them in this and put them in rooter plugs. Then I put them in a dirty old pot and filled the bottom with water. I then set them in a spot that is shaded all day. A week later 5 of the 6 had rooted out okay. I would say this stuff worked well and I would buy it again.

I bought this at the recommendation of a friend. My clones were never rooting no matter what i did i tried everything under the sun.To say the least i was skeptical but went ahead and ordered when it arrived which was rather quick i noticed it was really small and thought i got ripped off but my friend told me you only use a little which is why such a small bottle i thought whatever. So i took ten cuttings and dipped them in the gel before putting them in jiffy pellets like the instructions say tbh i didnt expect much i thought another snake oil product .I was way wrong to my surprise in less than 8 days i had roots coming out of the bottom of the jiffy pellets i now undetstand the small size when they say a little goes a long way its the truth. This stuff works so i decide to try another 5 clones and same results i have to say im solsld on this product and i like rhe fact you only need a small amount if you have your doubts about this product dont i did a little research of my own and this stuff has all kinds of vitamins for plant grow this is the real deal folks

These came on time and was able to use in cloning pepper plants in simple yogurt cup setup. Was a little said seeing it in local grow store for cheeper but it still worked for what I needed.

I have never had luck rooting plant cuttings. In fact I am terrible at it. I have tried powder and all kinds of things. I tried this and, you know what, it actually worked! I have started multiple plants from clippings with it. Not every clipping has worked, but at least 80% of them have which is good odds for me since I have killed a lot of plants I tried to start. So, I highly recommend this rooting compound.

best gel i've ever used ,the first tried this stuff, was as a "hand-me-down"(2011) it was opened and used and probably a couple months old. still worked great!..since then i've handed it down to a friend... it still gives awesome results!! 100% success rate for my friend every time...sometimes it can be hard to find because it sells so fast at my local shop, this will last me years to come if i dont use it all first lasts years after opening....

Excellent product. Highest level of active ingredient (IBA) of all cloning powders/gels. Be caureful if the jar tips over, gel leaks around edges even when screwed on tightly (and possibly during shipping). Its best to store this in a cold location and recap as soon as you are done using because the aditional water soluble vitamins mixed with the cloning hormone will be rapidly degraded when exposed to UV light (especially under Metal Halide grow lights). To combat leaky jar seal, store in ziplock bag to prevent moisture evaporation.

I have tried several rooting gels, and I have looked into the main ingredient, indole butyric acid. Pay attention to the percentage, as this is the most important component. Don't let any of the marketing hype or word of mouth fool you. Just because someone says "x-brand worked better for me, but all of the clones used by rootech failed", it doesn't mean that the other brand was better. It also doesn't mean Rootech was necessarily better or worse. They could have done something different or made a mistake, just as I did.
Now, back to that main ingredient. The more of this stuff, the better. The rest is just filler or water, and sometimes vitamins, which really don't do much at all for a plant without roots. From what I've found, Rootech has the highest concentration of indole butyric acid of any other product. This is the growth hormone that encourages your cuttings to grow roots, so more is better. One other product, which ends in an "-ex", even contains a known CARCINOGEN AND IRRITANT called crystal violet dye, which is only used as a colorant. (Check the MSDS safety sheets!) I did not know this even though I have used that particular brand of clone solution before trying the cloning gels.
That said, just use whatever method and product works best for you. At least now you know what to look for. And if you want to go with the facts, this product has the highest concentration of rooting hormones among any other gels.
EDIT: Just a note to anyone who has had trouble cloning in the past. I started out knowing nothing about taking cuttings and to make them survive. Believe it or not the cloning gel you use is not the most important factor in survival rate. I started with maybe 50% survival if I was lucky. By elimination, I figured out what conditions made for the best survival rates. The biggest things that will kill your clones are:
1) Stem rot from too much moisture (bacteria)
2) Wilting from low humidity
3) Yellowing (too much light)
Here are some observations that might help:
1) To prevent stem rot, make sure your stems aren't too wet. If using root cubes or plugs squeeze out excess moisture and only keep them moist. Too much water makes for less oxygen and sets up the perfect environment for bacteria to rot away the stems and prevent root growth. Aeroponic cloners can help with this, but can still rot your stems if the water gets too warm.
2) A clone has no roots so can't absorb water easily, so it will wilt. A common solution is using a humidity dome and misting. This can actually cause your clones to yellow faster and set up the perfect environment for mold and bacteria. Wilting can be easily prevented with the use of some anti-wilt liquid. It's a simple wax that is biodegradable and prevents water loss through the leaves. It will not kill your plants and will make them last longer, which means higher survival rates. I've used a couple brands and vitagrow seems to work the best. I just mix it according to directions and dip the cuttings or spray them once. I still use a humidity dome to prevent my root plugs from drying out. I promise you will increase your survival rate if you try this. I went from 50% to 100% by this method alone.
3) Yellowing. This is minor problem, but still important because you want only the strongest cuttings. To prevent this you should use low lighting for clones. High lighting will cause them to lose water faster, and in turn they will burn up the small reserve of nutrients in their leaves. A cutting that has yellowed and dying leaves will take longer to regenerate and may not survive as well. Another thing that can cause yellowing is the overuse of foliar sprays and even plain water. If you use ant wilt sprays there is no need for water misting, and nutrient foliar sprays are just too much for a small cutting that has already been in shock.
I hope this has helped anyone who is having trouble.
